Updates.

So I've written about a few topics lately that several people have asked me about, so I figured updates are in order.

First, Jack. Potty training is done! (Well, at least during the day.) He hasn't had an accident in about 10 days now. He tells us when he has to go, or if we are at home, he goes all on his own. He tells his teachers at school. He's doing awesome with it and I am so impressed with him.

Regarding his tantrums, we seem to have hit a plateau and he seems a little better (fingers crossed!) In fact, Justin came home a few days ago and I couldn't stop talking about how good Jack had been all day. He's been agreeable, happy, and a pleasure to be with pretty much all week. It's a very welcome change! I don't know what caused it, but I am hoping the tantrums were just a phase that has passed. Justin and I both took time this past weekend to spend some 1:1 time with him, and maybe that made a big difference.

Caroline has gotten over her cold and is back to her happy, calm, normally-sleeping self. We keep trying solids and she keeps hating them, but I am trying not to worry too much. She's a good nurser and is getting plenty of calories that way, so we will just keep working on it!

And finally, me. I had an ultrasound at the hospital last week and my follow-up appointment with my doctor yesterday. They found...nothing. Well, a small cyst that seemed to be on it's way out and will go away on its own with "watchful waiting." All of my scar tissue looked good. Everything was healing normally and there was no sign of infection. So while I am very happy that there are no major issues, I still have a lot of pain that I just have to wait out. The doctor gently reminded me that I'd had two c-sections and it's a major surgery that I can't expect to just bounce back from - recovery could take up to a year. So...that's that. I have to go back in 4 weeks just to check, but I should be fine.

We are hanging in there and looking forward to Halloween. Jack can't wait to dress up and go trick-or-treating with Caroline and his best friend Spencer!
