Stanford Family Carnival Day

Today we went up to Palo Alto to visit our good friends the Birbachs before our crazy summer(s) start. The kids had a blast at the Family Carnival Day for the graduate students and their families and friends. (Thanks, Jesse!) 

The weather was beautiful (per California standard) and we enjoyed being out in the sun.

Man, Jack sure does love a snow cone (or 10.)

Penny liked them too.

"Sugar-flavored ice?? YES PLEASE MAMA."

They had a little diesel train for the kids to ride. All four kids loved it.

They were so proud of themselves for riding alone.

Next up was the horse rides. Penny was a trooper, because I think she was terrified. 

This kid loved them.

Molly talked them up really big, but it took her a minute to warm up.

Caroline's first, and only, attempt to pet a goat. She wasn't too thrilled with their bleating.

Jack chased all the poor bunnies...and his sister.

Justin tried to convince her that they were friendly, even the lazy pig. Nope, she wasn't having it.

They had a comedian with a magic show. Jack was enthralled.

hysterically at every single lame joke. Funny kid.

On the way home...fell asleep with her bottle in her mouth.

And right next to her, #2 down for the count.

What a fun day! We will miss them as we all go about our summer travels (us: Justin to China, Hawaii, and then all of us to Georgia! them: Jesse graduates from Stanford Law School, takes the bar exam, starts work, they move, and then they are taking a family vacation to Hawaii!) Phew!!!
