On Father's Day, we decided to head to Sanborn County Park for some hiking in the Redwoods. The kids love getting out and being active (read: loud and crazy) and I was itching for some exercise. Mom was totally excited so off we went!

This is supposed to be a creek. Poor California. It's more like a slow trickle. |
About 1.2 miles up to the summit! The views were worth it! |
Her butt. SO DIRTY. |
It was a really, really great day!
Last Tuesday night, we did the dreaded annual overnight flight to Georgia. I say "dreaded" because I hate it and I kind of despise flying, but the kids were actually REALLY great. They slept 95% of both flights and hardly made a peep. Really, we couldn't have asked for better! Mom and I didn't sleep, but we made it on time and comfortably.

My attempt at a bed during our layover in the ATL. |
Waiting to board in San Jose. World travelers! |
Cutie pie. |
When we landed in Atlanta (at 3am PST / 6am EST), Caroline slept
through all the pilot's announcements, landing, the lights coming on,
and everyone else getting off the plane. She didn't move AT ALL until I had
to wake her up. Poor girl! |
And she snored. LOUDLY. |
Waiting on flight 2. |
Jack when we landed in Jacksonville. Poor kid. |
We made it! Jack LOOOOOVES the Farrell's new dog, Winston. Caroline hated him at first, but I think she's warming up. She likes to let him lick her hand when he's in his cage. She just doesn't like him jumping on her face, which is understandable.

Jack pretending to be a lifeguard. |
We got to see Aunt Courtney for a nice visit and playtime outside in the sprinklers! The kids had a blast... and Courtney was a good sport playing ball with Caroline approximately 8,826 times :)
We went to Sea Island and petted a very large falcon... |
Scared of a 5.5 lb dog yet pets a giant bird of prey... |
BEACH TIME |
They had SOOOOO much fun! |
Caroline soothed herself with TWO binkies (Seriously!!!) |
Jack slept his way through a wonderful dinner at the Georgia Sea Grill (SO YUM) |
Mom, Dad, and I took the kids to the Museum of Science and History (MOSH) in Jacksonville. |
They had a giant shark exhibit and another one about dinosaurs. Jack was in HEAVEN. |
He was a bit confused about this thing though. ("What IS this, Mom??" Man I felt old.) |
Adorbs! |
We went to Summer Waves... |
Fun was had by all :) |
We ate DELICIOUS FOOD... |
....and painted some pottery at Color Me Happy in Brunswick. Caroline painted
a "happy cake!" and Jack painted a shark. I painted a wine goblet but mom made fun of me.
I think it will be beautiful! |
Today, we met my BFF Sara and her mom, niece, and Sara's two girls at the splash
park on St. Simons. The kids WORE themselves OUT!!! It was so fun to catch up and a super fun
day with all the kiddos! |
Whew! We've done a LOT! Uncle Colin & Aunt Ashley come tomorrow, with Doakie, so I'm sure there will be lots more excitement before we head to the Crosby's on Sunday. It's been a whirlwind vacation but really fun so far with lots more to do!
