Kelly @ 22 Weeks

Now Jack is definitely starting to ruin her figure, just kidding. She definitely does gets noticed in public though.

This is me hard at work building the crib and changing table. It's even better built because I stuck my tongue out the entire time.

Now we just need to pick out blankets and drapes we both like to finish it up. Oh yeah, and get a chair too.

The Nursery

Justin spent some time this weekend setting up the crib and changing table, and hanging up the little clothes in the closet in the nursery. It was really fun! Once I have the pictures, I will post them. It's not done yet but it's looking good!

So I was thinking that we should start a poll. The doctor says the baby is happy, healthy, and measuring right on time. My official due date is August 3. So...what are your best guesses?? :)

What day and time will Jack be born?

What will his height and weight be?

We will get a prize for whoever ends up being closest! If I can figure out how to post a poll on here I will, otherwise email me or make a comment on this thread.

20-Week Checkup!

Today I had my 20-week checkup at the doctor's office. They did all the usual things - take a urine sample, blood pressure, weight, etc. I have officially gained almost 8 pounds, which they said was great and right on track. Also, my blood pressure was 112/68, which apparently was also good! They listened to baby Jack's heartbeat and it was strong at 155 beats per minute. They also start a new practice after 20 weeks, which is measuring (with a measuring tape!) your belly from just below your bra line to just under your belly. You are supposed to measure equal in inches to the number of weeks you are along. My belly was 21 inches, which was great (if a little large. I already know Jack is going to be a big baby - I'm doomed!)

The doctor also told me all about the Birthing Classes that Justin and I will get to take at the end of May. We have a few options, but I think I have chosen to take the Natural Childbirth class (even if that's not the route I end up going, I figure it won't hurt to be informed and prepared.) We will most likely do it Sunday nights for 4 weeks in late May. They do offer a one-day class at our hospital, so we will see what fits into our schedule. Either way, we are excited about taking those soon!

I also have two more monthly appointments, and then I move to every-two-week appointments. It is hard to believe that things are progressing this fast, but I am very thankful that everything is normal and healthy and so far, not too bad!

Miss all of you!
Love, K&J

19 week sonogram

We had our second sonogram at 19 weeks on 3/5/09. Here you can see me VERY happy looking at a very healthy and perfect baby boy! You can see the outline of his head and I believe his little hand above it in the sonogram. We were thrilled that he was perfect and now we can't wait to meet him! Especially because lately he has been kicking me like crazy. It's great to finally feel him move around and to know that he is happy and content in his home for the next 20 or so weeks!

I am going to let this count as my belly picture for 19 weeks. It was taken by Justin's Mom at our impromptu lunch to announce to our families that it was a boy. Everyone had a great time!! Surprisingly I have gotten much bigger since this was taken just over a week ago, so I'll have Justin take another belly shot this weekend at 20 - almost 21 - weeks.
Hope everyone is doing very, very well! We cannot wait to meet little Jack in just a few short months!

It's a boy

Apparently this is a penis. We can't really tell, but according to a medical professional, it is so. I (Justin) am excited about decorating in Blue...instead of Pink, so that my house is more aesthetically pleasing.

It's official!

Now that we have told both families (at a wonderfully relaxing and really special lunch today!) ... I can officially announce that it's a BOY!! Little Baby Boy Crosby is going to be the most spoiled child ever, I can already tell. That's ok ... he is very much wanted and already very loved!

I will post ultrasound pictures soon - they are incredible - and definitely prove that it's a little boy. (Well, maybe not so little - HA!) Have a great week everyone!

WE KNOW!

Baby Crosby officially has a gender ... well, it always has, but now it's official! We can't wait to share the news with all of our families ... and be able to start buying PINK or BLUE things! I'll post the update soon!

18 weeks and counting!

Hi everyone! Hope this email finds you well. I am writing from my snow-covered home ... we got 13 inches today so far and it isn't stopping! I had a self-mandated "snow day" but Justin headed in to work. What a trooper! I can't believe it is already March 2. Well, that, and that the weather is this bad!

Baby update: I am beginning to feel him/her move almost every day now. Tonight while watching TV he/she was pushing up against my bladder. What a pleasant sensation that was! I am just thrilled to be able to feel real movement now, and can't wait until Justin can feel it from the outside. I also can't wait until we know what it is ... so I can stop saying "him/her"!!

So here is my belly at 18 weeks on 3/2/09. No laughing!
Justin thinks it's getting bigger, but I can't really tell. I will also post a picture of how I look in regular clothes, in case you were wondering how I actually walk around during the day (no not with my belly hanging out!)

Miss all of you and hope all is well! I will post more after our appointment on Thursday. We can't wait!!
