Merry Christmas!

We are about to head out for a VERY EARLY morning flight to Georgia, but I just wanted to share some images from our Christmas Day yesterday. The kids had a blast! And I know they are excited to see all their family soon :)

just before the big day...

Christmas is coming tomorrow to the Crosby house, because our flight to Georgia leaves bright and early at 6:20am on (the real) Christmas morning. The kids are so excited they can't stand it. I thought Caroline was immune (i.e., had no clue) to what's going on, but she only took a 45 minute nap today and she's been WIRED so I suppose I was wrong. Jack has turned into a model citizen, doing everything perfectly and calmly and super sugary nice, just in case his behavior from the past 11 months catches up to him. Ha.

I feel like we should do a catch-up post, because the kids have changed so much since last Christmas (heck, since last week!)

Caroline:

  • Likes: school, climbing, screeching (ow), giggling, DA-DA, learning new words, repeating old favorite words over and over and over again, giving kisses, anything Princess, anything pink, anything sparkly, her purses, her Little People dolls, bath time, going "pee pee," taking 2.5 hours to eat a meal, popcorn, cashews (this girl is addicted), string cheese (but only whole, not in strings. That freaks her out.), legos, blocks, and wrestling with Jack.
  • Favorite time of day: when Daddy comes home! Or bath/shower time.
  • Least favorite time of day: when Mommy's making dinner.
  • What she wants for Christmas: see above. Pink, sparkly, dolls.
Jack:
  • Likes: school, playing video games, telling stories, watching Ninjago or Paw Patrol, drawing, painting, coloring, playing with paper/tape/scissors, making crafts, building tents, pizza, rice, cereal, and most recently, salmon sushi, not taking naps, helping me cook/bake anything.
  • Favorite time of day: going to school time or after-Caroline-goes-to-sleep-but-before-his-bedtime time.
  • Least favorite time of day: when Mommy's making dinner.
  • What he wants for Christmas: a sword, a play house, a video game or 10, and hopefully a new bike :)
We are so very excited to spend the rest of today baking Santa's cookies and watching Christmas movies tonight, and most of all to seeing all of our family in Georgia in just a few short days. Happy Holidays! Merry Christmas!!!

10 days 'til Christmas?? Already??

We've been busy busy getting ready for Christmas and our trip home to Georgia to see family. What's been taking up our time?

I got my flu shot (at Walgreens, Aunt Courtney!)
Caroline is in the copy-everything-any-of-us-do phase. This includes trying to go "pee pee!!" like Jack & Daddy. It's really ridiculous - she's obsessed. She yells "pee pee!" and then runs to the toilet, holds up her shirt for about 30 seconds, says "all done!" and runs away.

Jack has been napping again lately, for a few days at least, which has been weird. I'm just letting him crash wherever he wants, like here, behind the door to his bedroom in a fake bed he made himself.

After we took the kids to see Santa, they drove some cars in a game area at the mall. Caroline loved it.

Jack's pictures from preschool came in this week. Isn't he so cute!? I love them!

His class. So cute.
The kids had some crazy bath time as usual...

Caroline is obsessed with making anything her "baby." Including
these random sea creatures of Jack's. She rocks them and pats them and coos to them.

We put up our nativity scene after Jack told me a great story about Jesus, Batman, and the
eagles that protected the manger.
Friday morning, Justin, Caroline and I were hanging around in bed having our coffee/bottle and relaxing. Jack wasn't even awake yet, so he can't be blamed! She was laying on her back and scooted, using her feet for leverage, off the side of the bed on accident. She crumpled directly onto her neck and it made this horrible crunchy sound. She cried a lot, and became really lethargic, holding onto me and whimpering.

Off we went to the Emergency Room (again.) Luckily they weren't busy at all, we went right into a room and the doctor was there in less than 2 minutes.
Getting her neck checked out.

Poor baby.
After a bunch of poking and prodding and a lot of tests and inspections, they declared her totally fine. She even perked up at the sight of a popsicle.

Later that day, Jack and I got some Starbucks. He got his very own cup.

We drove some more cars.

Caroline let her belly hang out.

Jack spent some relaxing time watching TV just like Justin:
We went out to Bill's Cafe for breakfast, and Caroline wore her princess slippers.

Our club had a Kids Christmas Party on Saturday. Justin went shopping (whaatt??) so I took the kids. They had a BLAST. They had a cookie-decorating station, a make-an-ornament station, a bunch of yummy treats, and of course Santa himself.

Caroline's BFF at the pool.

Last night, Justin and I went to Apple's Hardware Engineering holiday party. It was so nice to take a night away and relax! The food was good, drinks were free, the band was loud...it was great fun!

A bad selfie.

The decorations were pretty!

Justin and some of his coworkers.
Today we had a quiet day at home, cleaning up and getting rid of stuff in the garage.

Caroline played in the dirt, per usual.

Jack's obviously a Farrell.

Caroline is obviously guilty.
I can't believe Christmas is so close! The kids are so excited. It already looks like Santa came (mainly because Jack likes wrapping up random things he finds all over the house.) We can't wait!
