Baby Jack at 31 Weeks!

Today we had our 4D Ultrasound. Jack is super cute with big cheeks and a little dimpled chin! He was also stubborn (we already knew this) and refused to take his hands away from his face. Here is a picture to enjoy until he makes his grand arrival very soon!

30-week Appointment!

Today I had my 30-week appointment. How has the time gone by so fast?! Everything looked good as usual. Jack's heart was beating normally and he is getting bigger by the day! Right now they calculate that he is just over 3.5 pounds and almost 17 inches long. He's a healthy boy!

The only big news is that he is currently breech. His head is lodged somewhere up under my right ribcage (which explains the pain I've been having there!) and his little feet are what keep me up at night kicking my bladder. They told me that at this stage this isn't really too much to worry about, although most babies have turned head-down by now. They said they will give him a few more weeks and if he doesn't turn on his own, they will "compel" him to do so. (Which from what I was told involves me laying on a big ball and the doctor basically sitting on my stomach!) So everyone hope that Jack will suddenly decide he likes to be normal!! :)

Hope everyone is well! Talk soon,
Love Kelly

Happy Memorial Day!

Hi everyone, and happy Memorial Day! Here is a picture of the flag that we put up today to commemorate the holiday (and enjoy all summer long!)

Last weekend we took a trip to Kennebunkport, Maine. We decided at the last minute that it would be relaxing to get away and have a quiet weekend to celebrate our anniversary (and have a last vacation before Jack arrives!) We stayed here, at the Colony Hotel. It was beautiful - right on the water, and our room had ocean views! Unfortunately we had two things working against us: one, the weather was pretty terrible (raining / cloudy and around 55 degrees the whole time), and two, I forgot to charge the camera battery before we left so we only got a few pictures. Here is our room, since that's about the only photo we took!
We did a lot of walking around Kennebunk and Kennebunkport (in case you didn't know, the Bushes have a "compound" in Kennebunkport but we unfortunately did not find it.) We had dinner at the hotel, in a beautiful sun room overlooking the water, and spent some time at the bar watching the Preakness race. It was a very relaxing weekend!

As far as Memorial Day goes, we have been very busy over our holiday weekend. (Well, Justin has. I mostly sat around in the sun reading, but that's what a vacation is for, right?!) Here are some pictures of the beautiful landscaping that Justin has been working on:

He dug up a lot of the overgrown plants by our front door and planted some rose bushes (pictured) on one side, and some yummy-smelling lilac and lavendar on the other. He also spent much of the day making a "rock garden" in the backyard, and planting some lilac and vinca around the rocks:

He also found that we have a LARGE amount of poison ivy in our yard! Poor thing; he has been scratching like crazy all weekend. This is poison ivy (pictured in our side yard) and this is Justin's legs post-poison ivy fight!! (He does have calamine lotion on, but they still look terrible!)

Lesson of the weekend: poison ivy=OUCH!!!!

Finally, here are some recent shots of me at 30 weeks. We went on a little bike ride around the Reservoir in our neighborhood, so I hopped off the bike next to a creek so Justin could take my picture. Say hi to Jack! He has been very active lately. I also was lazing around the yard while Justin was working on Sunday, which is when we snapped the second picture. I like it better since it's further away and I don't look quite as HUGE! (Yes that is Justin watering his flowers by the mailbox in the background. I tried to make him wear pants, a long sleeved shirt, and gloves to prevent the posion ivy from spreading, but he wasn't a fan!!)

Happy Summer from the Crosby Family!!! :):):)

Happy Three Years!

Today Justin and I celebrate our three-year anniversary. What a time it's been! I can't believe it's already been so long. We are excited about welcoming Baby Jack into our loving family!

Here's a new picture:

I had a doctor's appointment yesterday and they said everything looks great. I started all the pre-registration materials that we will have to turn in at the hospital, as well as all the paperwork for Jack's social security number and all that other fancy legal stuff. It made it seem a little more real and a little closer!
Hope everyone is doing great!
Love, Kelly

28 weeks and Counting!

Hi family and friends! Time is rapidly progressing. Things are blooming here in Massachusetts - both outside and in my belly! I am getting bigger by the day. Nothing new to complain about except the insomnia - but I think it's just me getting ready to be up all night when he comes!

Here is a picture of the nursery bedding that we recently ordered and installed. I think it looks great! We still have a few minor things to do in the nursery, but things are moving along nicely. I love hanging out in the glider chair that we got - it's so comfortable and at night, with only the nightlight on, it's a very peaceful room to relax in. I am hoping that it stays that way once Jack makes his big arrival!

Also here is a picture of me at 28 weeks. Not a very flattering shot, but wow, I am getting quite large!! It seems that the belly has really grown in the last few weeks. He does keep reminding me that he's in there, with lots of kicks and hiccups! It's an awesome feeling.
I have my next appointment on May 12, to get some routine blood work done and make sure that everything still looks good. Then I move into my third trimester and appointments every 2 weeks! Very exciting! I am looking forward to the next few months.
Justin and I also celebrate our 3 YEAR anniversary on May 13. How has time gone by so fast?? Hopefully we will spend it relaxing together because even though I tease him, it's been the best 3 years of my life. :)
Talk soon!
Kelly
