Thanksgiving + Pre-Christmas

Merry Thanksgiving! Happy Christmas! Or something.

We've had a great and busy Thanksgiving week. Gigi and G-Doc came to keep us lots of company and entertain the kids. It's been super fun!

We found out that Caroline is really Justin's child:

Twins.

And she is mine too:

Doing her toenails with an emery board.

Caroline and I stayed home and baked gingerbread men cookies while the other adults took Jack to the Exploratorium in San Fran. She LOVED it!

She also helped makes the turkeys for the table:

Unfortunately she found our beer stash. We are in trouble when she's in college...this girl loves wine & beer. (Side note: that bottle was empty.)

Justin and I had this bottle of wine with a romantic dinner - it had a great name. It was actually a really good bottle.

Gigi and I took Caroline shopping at Tory Burch ... And she had a fabulous time. It was ridiculous!

Happy the Elf showed up on Thanksgiving. He's been keeping a close eye on the kiddos!

We were wholly prepared for Thanksgiving:

everything's better with butter.
Justin's Dad and I ran the Silicon Valley Turkey Trot (early!!!) on Thanksgiving morning. It was really cold at first but it warmed up, thankfully.

There were lots and LOTS of people! 28,000 to be exact.

Jack Sparrow even ran it!

I ran a personal 10K best in an official time of 1:03.36. This is my unofficial time from my running app. I was very happy with my performance!

Justin's dad did great in his 5K debut with a time of 46:08.09!!! It was good that we ran a lot, and then took naps, because it was turkey time! Someone (looking at you, Caroline) got up at 4:00am on Thanksgiving morning. Then she took an epic nap. Imagine that.

We took a quick minute to grab some family pictures before Thanksgiving dinner. They turned out about as well as too be expected.

 Here's our Thanksgiving table:

Guess who's big enough for Crew Cuts?!? I am SO EXCITED! She's such a little sassy model too.

This morning we got our LIVE tree...at Whole Foods! Don't judge, it was $49. The only Black Friday deal I partook in.

How do YOU buy Christmas trees?

Jack and I did a 1-mile run this morning to recover.

Random pictures of the fam at the Exploratorium:

And here's our tree all set up. It smells SOOO good!

I call Caroline "sweetest girl." Justin calls her "baby." (Not in like, "hey baby what's shaking," but in like, "here, Baby." As a proper noun. It's pretty funny.) Jack calls Caroline "little girl." Whatever we call her - she's amazing and we love her.

I call Jack "bubs" or "bubsy-boo." Caroline calls him "YACK!" Justin calls him "big man." Whatever we call him, HE'S pretty amazingly awesome too :)

Her little mind works 1,000 miles a minute, every day. Here she is working on her shapes:

Jack was SOOOO mad at me for making him go to "the little baby haircut place!" where they have cars instead of seats. He wanted to go to the grown up place by Target (SuperCuts.) Sorry, kid. They do a better job here.

Caroline randomly fell asleep at the lunch table at school the other day. They had to make her a makeshift bed. Silly girl! Sleep in later!

Here's her baby. She LOOOOVVVEESSS her baby. And the fact that her baby has a binky too :)

I tried to take Christmas card pictures the other day. Let me tell you how wonderfully that went….

Yup, this about sums it up.
Finally - this face. I see Justin SOOO much in this little face right here.

Recently I've been...

Monday I finally had to take Caroline in to Urgent Care (Veterans Day=pediatrician closed) because her cough was out of control.

Thankfully she got some antibiotics and she's doing much better. But while we were waiting this chart was on the room's wall. Caroline kept pointing at it and yelling "Dada!! Dada!!" Jack thought it was hilarious.

My mom's class took a tour of the Gulfstream facility in Brunswick. She sent me home this super cool packet of information on airplanes for Jack. He loved it!

One day when he didn't take a nap, he did this on the couch at 6:30:

Below:
"Jack, I think your iPad is in my purse."

Caroline is always moving and always talking. Her facial expressions were so funny this time that I snapped these in order:

She dressed herself to get Jack from school, glass high heel slippers and all.

Fall showed up finally in Silicon Valley!

The caped Nole crusader came to visit:

The kids shared some ice cream at Chick-Fil-A:

Caroline is becoming more attached to binkys by the day (sigh)...

And she LURVES her Dada!!!

This was at 4am. Sometimes we all need a good pick me up, amirite?

Today we went to Ikea:

They had a blast. Caroline had so much fun she even gnawed on her own toes (WTH?!!?)

You know you're a little sister with a big brother when you nap with Matchbox Cars on your lap.

Curlz McGee.

This afternoon we went to the park. It was 57 and overcast but Jack was panicked that it would start snowing at any second.

Tonight we took a bath- and Caroline didn't take these off :) :)
