It's been MONTHS!!

I am ashamed to say that I've become that person...the one who slacks on updating the blog. It definitely isn't because we've had a shortage of material lately....no, these wild & crazy kids keep us on our toes in every imaginable way. I think it's because things happen so quickly and change so fast that I feel like by the time I write about a stage, it's already gone and we are onto the next one!

So, long overdue...here's a Caroline and Jack update.

CAROLINE:

  • Age: as she says, "I two half!" ... she will be 3 in April, but she's definitely in the midst of the Terrible Twos.
  • Likes: her play stroller (but not for babies, for random junk she likes to push around,) goldfish crackers, string cheese, carrying framed pictures around, making huge HUGE messes and getting into literally everything, climbing and jumping, playing in the dirt and mud (but thankfully, not eating it - often), BINKIES, "taggies" (her little muslin and satin cloths), sleeping late, staying up late, chocolate milk, mac n' cheese.
  • Dislikes: listening to Mommy & Daddy, being bossed around by Jack, hummingbirds, dogs, butterflies, regular birds, owls...basically any animal that makes any sound of any kind.

JACK:
  • Age: 5 going on 15.
  • Likes: friends at school, numbers, math, Minecraft, videos on YouTube, sharks, dinosaurs, the solar system and stars, bugging the crap out of his little sister, shrimp, hot dogs, negotiating, arguing, riding his bike, going to the movie theatre.
  • Dislikes: being told what to do, going to bed, milk, getting to school too late to play on the playground, "baby" movies or toys.

Together, sometimes, they drive me CRAZY. They like to instigate each other and touch, tease, tickle, slap, and wrestle...especially in the backseat of the car. DRIVES ME NUTS!! I guess I should be grateful that they are such good friends, and have fun together most of the time. I just wish that "fun time" together didn't involve screaming, yelling, super loud laughing, and acting obnoxious!

Let's take a look at their particular brand of crazy, shall we?

My March resolution (ha!) is to be better about updating the blog!! Stay tuned!!

2015!

We've been busy, because it's already January 18 (!!!!!!) and this is the first post I've done this year! I've been slacking and I need to get back to it.

Here's everything we've done so far, in a nutshell:

New Years Eve dinner...

Trying to stay awake for the ball drop in Times Square. They made it until 9:00!

Family hike on New Years morning was fantastic!

THIS IS THE BIGGEST PIG I'VE EVER SEEN.

Sissy & Mom got me this awesome workout tank. I love it!

Hold your breath: JUSTIN went to the gym with me! He wouldn't let me take any
selfies there but here's us relaxing after lifting weights :)

She drew a dinosaur!

AM frost in CA.

Funny boy.

I don't know why I like to watch her sleep. I realize it's kind of strange.
But she's SO CUTE.

Caroline pretending like she's in kindergarten. Miss Toohey kind of loves her.

Happy birthday Justin!!! Dinner at Fogo de Chao.

Jack drew a stegosaurus.

We've had beautiful sunsets.

Got the whole fam to the track at Jack's school one weekend morning.

3.5 miles for me and 2 for this kid!

Caroline had her first baby ballet class on Friday!

Justin and I had a date night to get haircuts together, Lol.

and then hit the wine & had steak dinner.

Running early is WORTH IT!

Maria, Me, and Devony!

My medals for my buddy Hannah :)
Here's to it not being another 18 days before my next post!

Jack is doing GREAT in kindergarten. He is learning to read (sound out words), and count, add and subtract. He's enjoying it SO much more since Christmas break. We are VERY thankful!

And Caroline is talking up a storm (seriously, she is NEVER EVER quiet. EVER.) but she is loving school too! She's learning her letters and basic manners (which are difficult for her, ha.) Overall we are all doing great!
