I am typing this sitting on our balcony overlooking the start of a beautiful day in Maui. It's super hard to believe that we are even here! I feel like we've been talking about, and then planning, this trip forever. To finally be here is kind of amazing.
This morning, we walked down the beach to Black Rock to do some snorkeling. I bought a bunch of new snorkel gear yesterday that I couldn't wait to try out! It was pretty rough (the waves were big against the rocks!) but we saw a lot of cool stuff. Jack and his cute snorkel gear would have loved it. Justin chased a puffer fish for awhile and we saw lots of bright colors: yellows, pinks and blues that made your eyes water they were so neon! Tomorrow we are going to drive about 10 minutes up the coast to another (bigger) spot that has been recommended to us too. We love snorkeling, and man, fighting those waves is great exercise!
Here are a few pictures we've snapped so far.

On the plane, ready to take off! The direct flight from San Jose to Maui was a WINNER. |
Enjoying my first ever ride in First Class with a wine, my feet up, and watching Avatar. |
| Somehow, the meals in First Class are much, much, much better than in Coach... |
Our first view of Hawaii, stepping off the plane. It was a quick rain shower, but it passed really fast! |
| ALOHA! |
| Driving Highway 30 to our hotel in Lahaina. |
| Golf courses galore. Pop-Pop would have loved them! |
| Our first lunch - on the water. Beautiful! |
| Checking into our hotel: the Westin Maui Resort & Spa. This is the lobby! |
| View from our balcony. Ahhh-mazing. |
| I couldn't get enough. |
The Honeymoon Special. Yea, Justin told them we were on our honeymoon. "They don't have to know it's our SECOND honeymoon!" |
| Celebrating newlywed life. HAAHAHA. |
BEAUTIFUL sunset. We are going to take a sunset cruise later in the week to catch it from a catamaran. It will be amazing. |
| I went running this morning (early!) on the beach. It was so serene and relaxing! |
| I took this for Jack. Baby Toby! |
| He was so little and cute. (Those are my sandy running shoes. Love.) |
| Breakfast on the water EVERY MORNING! |
| The black swan! (For Michelle!) |
| Giant carp (I think.) |
Still love the flamingos. They remind me of my childhood home in Ft. Lauderdale. |
We have lots more to do and see, but it's naptime! (With no little kids waking me up. It's unimaginable! But I still miss them both bunches, of course!)
More soon...
Ahhh! Thanks for the black swan photo! I can't believe he is still there! We love that guy. :) Keep posting pics and updates. We'd planned to return to Hawaii for our 5-year anniversary (this August) then we decided to add to our family instead, so I am living vicariously through you and loving every minute of it (well, except for the fact that I am not actually there). Hope you continue to have a fabulous trip!!!
