October!

Somehow it's already mid-October and I have no idea how that happened. We had a great quick visit with Gigi and G-Doc this weekend - the kids did tons of fun stuff like go to Chuck E Cheese and go down to a super cool beach hike in Santa Cruz with Daddy and their grandparents. There are, of course, a LOT more pictures...but I need to pull them all off my emails from Gigi! For now, here's a sneak peak :)

A few weeks ago, Jack's kindergarten school pictures came in and they are SO AMAZING!

He's so grown!
Caroline had a Frozen-themed playdate at our club,  and they assured me that she had a LOT more fun than the pictures showed:

She also rocked a few super cool outfits to school:

Like this one!
We had open house/back to school night at Caroline's preschool. I enjoyed seeing her classroom, all her artwork on display, and loved the music man they hired to entertain the kids while we talked with the teachers!

She was totally into it!
I drug both kids with me on a Friday afternoon to pick up my bib and shirt at the Rock N Roll San Jose Half Marathon expo. Caroline at least had fun...

The next day, we went to Penny Birbach's 3rd birthday party and I hung out with a snuggly, sleepy Lewey!

Then we hit up IKEA for ice cream...

And I enjoyed some Chipotle philosophy:

Sunday morning dawned bright and early. My running buddy Maria and I hit downtown San Jose early..so early that they were still spraying the finish line!

Moms RUN This Town!

My whole MRTT group .... 80+ ran this race!

There were 14,000 people running. Whaaattttt....

I saw this and took a picture so Justin could build me one.
It was HOT. A solid 96 degrees at the finish line, and let's just say I had a few problems at the end. (Look how glassy my eyes are!!) But I made it! I was on pace to finish in 2:15 until mile 10, when everything kind of fell apart heat-wise. I finished officially in 2:26.04, slightly better than I did in Savannah a year ago, so I'll take it.

This is my "triple threat" team!! Maria & Rachel rock.

Blisters.
Now I am gearing up to run the Morgan Hill Marathon on 11/2. I am cumulatively adding crazy miles - I've done 19.5 miles over the last 3 days in 5 separate runs. (It's a new strategy. We will see how it goes.) I have another last long run with Maria next weekend and then it's time to taper! But first, if it could PLEASE COOL OFF HERE THAT WOULD BE GREAT.

This was after a 9am run. SO HOT.
My best bud Stefanie watched J & C for me so I could get the house clean last week before our visitors arrived. It was so awesome, and as you can see, the kids had a BLAST with Charlotte and Louisa!!! Love these smiling faces!!

I will update soon with better pictures!
