It has been a week of inexplicable violence. My small hometown lost a well-liked public leader early this week, a mall in Oregon was held hostage by a gunman, and then this morning we learned of the school tragedy in Connecticut.
I cannot make sense of any of it. I cannot wrap my head around the violence and the senseless pain that surrounds us. My heart breaks for parents, siblings, friends and neighbors who lost loved ones this week, especially innocent children so close to Christmas. True evil has touched us this week.
I spend a lot of time on this blog sharing the lighter moments of our lives. This is a short pause to remind us all how fleeting those moments are. On this cold winter's night, snuggle your kids close. Kiss your spouse. Call your parents. Thank the Lord above that you are lucky enough to do so. I know I am.
